Client Service Agreement
What you agree to when you book a visit with us. You'll sign this once, electronically, before your first booking — no printing or scanning needed.

1. The agreement
This Client Service Agreement ("Agreement") is between Buffalo Tailworks ("we", "us", "your caregiver") and the client who books a visit through our site ("you", "Client"). Checking the box and signing below — or simply using our services — means you agree to the terms below for this and every future visit, until an updated version replaces it.
2. Dog walking schedule
Visits are requested through the site, matched to a service and duration (30-min walk, 60-min walk, drop-in, or overnight — current services and rates are shown when you book), and confirmed by your caregiver before they're locked in. Nothing is on the schedule until you get that confirmation.
Arrival times are windows, not exact minutes — traffic, weather, and the visit ahead of yours can shift things by a few minutes. We'll message you if a visit is running meaningfully early or late.
Please send any changes or cancellations through in-app messaging as soon as you know — the earlier we hear, the easier it is to adjust the schedule.
3. Basic care
During each visit we provide the care described for that service: walking, potty breaks, fresh water, feeding if requested, and administering any medication exactly as instructed in your notes.
We follow the care notes, feeding instructions, and medication directions you give us at booking. Please keep them current — an outdated note is the most common cause of a mixed-up visit.
We use the leash, collar or harness, and equipment already at your home unless you've told us otherwise. If your dog needs specific gear to stay safe, let us know before the first visit.
4. Client responsibilities
You're responsible for making sure the information you give us is accurate and current — your dog's temperament, medical needs, vaccination status, and any history of aggression or resource guarding.
You're responsible for a safe, accessible home: working locks, a clear path to your dog, and no hazards (unsecured chemicals, an open pool, etc.) that a reasonable visit wouldn't anticipate.
If your dog has bitten a person or another animal, or has aggression that could put a caregiver at risk, you must disclose it before booking. We may decline or end service for any dog whose behavior puts our team at risk.
Please keep your contact info, address, and access instructions (codes, lockbox, keys) up to date — we can't provide a visit we can't get into.
5. Emergency steps
If your dog is injured, becomes seriously ill, or is otherwise in a medical emergency during a visit, we will: (1) try to reach you immediately, (2) try any emergency contact you've listed, and (3) if we can't reach either and the situation is urgent, take your dog to the nearest available veterinarian or emergency animal hospital.
By booking, you authorize us to seek emergency veterinary care on your dog's behalf when we can't reach you in time, and you agree to reimburse reasonable emergency veterinary costs we advance on your behalf.
If we're ever unable to safely enter your home, or your dog is missing or has gotten out, we'll contact you right away and make a reasonable effort to find your dog before leaving the area.
6. Payments
Rates are set by service and shown before you book. A card is securely saved (via Stripe) when you request a visit, but nothing is charged until after the visit is complete — a declined or cancelled request is never charged.
Payment is collected once your visit is finished, around the time your report is sent. If a charge fails, we'll let you know so you can update your card — the visit itself isn't affected either way.
Prices, including the extra-dog fee, may change over time; the price shown when you book is the price for that visit regardless of later changes.
7. Liability
Buffalo Tailworks provides care with reasonable skill and attention, but we're not insurers of your dog's health or your property. Except where caused by our negligence, we're not liable for illness, injury, escape, or death arising from a pre-existing condition, another animal, a third party, or a hazard the Client didn't disclose.
Please keep your homeowner's or renter's insurance, and your dog's vaccinations and licensing, current — we may ask for proof of rabies vaccination before a first visit.
You agree to hold us harmless for damage your dog causes to your own property or a third party's property during a visit, except where caused by our negligence.
8. Confidentiality
Access codes, lockbox combinations, keys, and any other entry information you give us are used only to provide your service and are shared only with the caregiver(s) assigned to your visits.
Photos or notes from a visit report are shared with you through the app. We won't use your dog's photo or your information for marketing outside the app without asking first.
We won't share your personal information outside our team except as needed to provide the service (for example, a veterinarian in an emergency) or as required by law.
9. Term & changes
This Agreement covers every visit you book with us and stays in effect until either of us ends the relationship. You can stop booking at any time; we may decline future service for any reason, including safety concerns.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. If we make a material change, you'll be asked to sign the new version the next time you book.
